Toddler-Made Pizza: An Easy Way for Kids to Cook

I've been coming up with activities that M2 can do to stay busy. She loves being in the kitchen to watch me cook and wants to help. There is a special chair she drags over to watch. At 2 years old, there isn't much she can do.

Then I remembered the mini pizzas my dad always made when I was a kid. They're so simple I knew M2 could make them herself -- without much mess. She was thrilled to make dinner all herself for everyone. Much cheering ensued.

Toddler-made pizzas are a great activity to make the kids feel important, learn to start cooking, build confidence in themselves, and have fun. These pizzas are great for a quick lunch or dinner.

Toddler-Made Pizza
  • Thomas' English muffins (store brand isn't as tasty)
  • Pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Sausage crumbles or other toppings. Meat must be pre-cooked
Break open the muffins and set on microwaveable plates (you do this step)
Spread on sauce with a pastry brush. Toddler can either dip the brush in the sauce jar or you can dump some on for him/her to spread
Sprinkle cheese on top, as much as you allow the toddler to add
Add sausage or other toppings on top
Microwave until cheese is melted (you do this step). You can bake them in the oven if you prefer

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. As a busy mom, I'm not always able to respond to each one, though I read and appreciate them all.
